Clinic Policies & Patient Guidelines

Thank you for choosing our clinic for your healthcare needs. We are committed to providing you with timely, professional, and compassionate care. The following policies help us ensure quality service and fair access for all patients.

Appointments & Wait Times

  • Prescription Renewals: Appointments are required for all prescription renewals. Please contact us in advance to ensure continuity of care.

  • Wait Times: Appointment times may vary depending on patient needs. While we strive to stay on schedule, medical issues can arise unexpectedly that require additional care. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

  • Doctor Availability & Clinic Hours: Our hours of operation may vary depending on physician availability. For the most up-to-date information, including holiday and weather-related closures, please visit our website or call the clinic directly.

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

To ensure timely access for all patients:

  • Notice Requirements:

    • Primary Care / Family Practice: Minimum 24 hours’ notice required.

  • Missed Appointment Policy:

    • Patients who miss an appointment without sufficient notice will receive a letter and invoice.

    • Missed appointment fees are based on the type of appointment and follow Doctors Nova Scotia’s guidelines.

    • Repeated missed appointments may lead to discharge from the clinic.

Booking Guidelines

  • Please inform our staff of the reason for your visit when booking. This helps us allocate the appropriate time and resources.

  • Appointments are usually scheduled to address one primary concern. For multiple issues, we may recommend booking a follow-up appointment.

  • Booking for Multiple Family Members: Each family member must have a separate appointment.

Health Cards & Insurance

  • Bring your valid provincial health card to every visit. You may be asked to verify your card, address, and contact information.

  • If your health card is expired, invalid, or not from a participating province (e.g., Quebec):

    • You may be asked to pay for your visit.

  • If your coverage cannot be verified at the time of your visit, you may choose to self-pay and seek reimbursement from your insurer.
  • Uninsured Services: Fees may apply for services not covered by MSI or your provincial health plan.

We thank you for your cooperation and look forward to continuing to support your health and well-being. For any questions regarding these policies, please contact our front desk staff.
